The Sunshine Award is given to a Blogger who has been recognized as positive, encouraging and inspiring others through their blogs. I was thrilled when I got the message from that I had been nominated. I count this as a huge honor and privilege to been known as one that shines in these positive ways. Thank you Inspireme.love for this opportunity.
As a special part of accepting this award, I was given questions. I enjoy answering questions that have some uniqueness to them. These ones had me thinking. I hope you enjoy reading them.
1. What is your name and it’s meaning?
Most people call me Dani except my family. My real name is Danielle which means “God is my judge.”
2. What is the best way to cheer you up when sad?
The best way to cheer me up when I’m sad is to take me out dancing…. more specifically west coast swing or zouk dancing. That will definitely change my mood in a heartbeat. Add going out to dinner in the mix and you will get a big bear hug.
3. What is your life motto?
My life motto is “progress makes us happy.” It reminds me that every day counts and any amount of time investing in your dreams, character development and skill building matters. It brings you joy.
4. What is your favorite childhood memory?
My favorite childhood memory is going on bike rides fwith my siblings and getting my favorite bubble gum ice cream (that’s not my favorite anymore).
5. If you discovered a new planet what would you name it?
I have to admit it…this question had me stumped with finding an answer. Maybe I would name it after my dear grandpa who passed away so that way I have something beautiful to look at while I talk to him.
6. What does your dream life look like to you?
My dream life would include being financially well off so that I could support the causes that tug at my heart, the biggest thing being suicide prevention and ending human trafficking. I see the cruelty in the world and I want to do something to end it. I want to see people living happy and free. I would also like to travel and discover new places and cultures. I enjoy learning and seeing creativity among people.
7. If I could be the best at anything in the world it would be dancing. Dancing brings so much enjoyment to my soul. It’s been a hobby that has challenged my life- making me a better person. Being the best at it would be so humbling and honoring to me.
8. How do you spend your free time?
I spend my free time blogging, dancing, exercising, modeling, listening to podcasts and YouTube videos and occasionally reading.
9. If money were not an object where would your plane be headed to right now?
If money weren’t an object I’d be on a plane to Rome. Everything about it seems so remarkable- atmosphere, food, culture, history. So much to do and see! Just thinking about it makes my heart pound.
10. Who is someone you look up to and why?
Someone that I have always looked up to is God. He has played a significant role in my life. He has made me who I am today. People come and go but God remains, even as we pass. I’ve had God speak to me in many forms through dreams, visions, healings and whispers to my spirit. It is because of God that I have given people encouragement, hope and reasons to live.
I have so many incredible stories and they all point back to a loving God that spoke to me. He is the author and creator of the real agape love. Never changing, never ending and always free and pure. It is the most inspiring love that anyone who knows God understands.
11. What was your greatest life lesson?
I don’t know that I have only one great life lesson. I’ve learned so many great lessons and some of them have been really hard. One thing I’ve heard and has stuck with me through the years is “trust your gut.”
There have been times where I have played the logical game of naming pros and cons in an effort to make a decision….only to find out later down the road that my list didn’t matter so much. When it comes down to making a decision, you have to go with your gut. If it feels off about a situation or person it’s Gods way of saying something is not right.
Something can have the appearance of good but in the end, leaving you empty and many steps back in your journey. A pros/cons list is okay but when it comes down to your gut feeling- trust your gut. Then ask God (protector and author of love) to confirm those gut feelings. He has done this for me.
My heart is to be the best version of myself in order to help and inspire others in their dreams and ambitions.
